Caroline loves to paint as it makes her happy and she finds the process very relaxing and comforting. Life is her subject matter and Caroline is inspired by life and places; the animals & wildlife, busy crowds, the sea, all aspects of life inspire her work.
Caroline uses acrylics on canvas and in developing her own style over the last few years describes her work as 'naive, colourful and fun'. With no formal art training Caroline states that she doesn’t worry about perspective or shading and just has an urge to paint people and their surroundings. Caroline also says 'I am always happy when I paint and I think this reflects in my work'.
A keen traveller, Caroline travels for most of the year in her campervan painting and sketching as she goes and discovering new places to paint whilst also revisiting familiar places and seeing them in a new way. Caroline enjoys watching people and including them in her paintings and each piece has small stories and observations in it allowing the viewer to then make their own stories up whilst looking at them.
Being self taught Caroline's goal is to be a respected artist whose art tells a story and makes people smile.
